Gradual Healing

Today, I’d like to direct your attention to Luke 17:13. This is a very important piece of scripture here and will be the basis for our topic.

Gradual healing.

Luke 17:13 – “And they lifted up their voices and said, ‘Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.’ And when He saw them, He said to them, Go show yourselves unto the priests.

And it came to pass that, as they went, they were cleansed.”

Did you catch that?

“As they went, they were cleansed.” It is important to realize that Jesus Christ can heal immediately or he can heal gradually. Remember, God does not hold on to one particular way of healing. Any doctor worth his salt can tell you that they can’t heal anyone, but rather their job is to assist the body in actually healing itself.

We know that all healing comes from the Lord. He has actually built a man’s body to heal itself. So what I want to encourage you to do is remember how many methods Jesus used in healing people. Jesus said, “The Son can — do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do…”

He said this is the reason I can do this. I don’t do anything. I can’t do anything without the Father. So if the father wants that healing to be gradual, it’s all to the glory of God. If the father wants that healing to be immediate, it’s all towards the glory of the Lord. Never feel like you need to lie in order to be believed. Just preach the Word like Jesus said, OK?

He didn’t say a word that was outside of the Father’s will. Let us go and do likewise. Jesus can heal immediately or Jesus can heal gradually. In either case, it’s still Jesus that heals.
